BIC25 Happy Birthday & MOJO55 Happy Birthday

Happy Tuesday!!! Beate has chosen this beautiful Canvas as the Inspiration Piece today!!! Isn't it pretty???

While the first card (below) was posted I started working on another idea - I need a couple of Birthday cards and I thought I'd continue with the same Set and color combo.

This time I'm using Julee Tilman's MOJO55 Sketch.

Since I'm using *Kraft* CS on both of my cards I'll submit these in Julee's VVPP06 Challenge too.....(today is the last day to enter - hurry!!!)

Next is my BIC card!!! Keep going....

I must admit I wasn't so sure about the colors on the Canvas first, but once I took a closer look I was getting excited.....Here is my interpretation of the Canvas - Baja Breeze, Groovy Guava, Close to Cocoa, Kraft, Bravo Burgundy and Whisper White.

Here is what I have done - I used the gorgeous *Eastern Blooms* SU Set and inked it up with Groovy Guava first. Then I took a *Q-Tip* and erased the Groovy Guava off the stem. Next I took a Close to Cocoa Marker and traced the stem. Then I used the fine tip from the Bravo Burgundy Marker and slightly tipped the outside of the flowers (I didn't want to blend the Groovy Guava and Bravo Burgundy to much). Plus I wanted to achieve the same kind of look as the flowers on the Canvas.

After stamping the image I used the new SU *Floral Frenzy* Brass Template and *Dry Embossed* around the flowers. Click on the picture to see the embossing :)
Anyway - after the embossing I inked the *Happy Birthday* sentiment from the *A Little Birthday Cheer* Set in Close to Cocoa and pierced right below it. Then I added the Bravo Burgundy Grosgrain Ribbon and the small Silver Pearls.

Next I have adhered the Whisper White, Baja Breeze and Bravo Burgundy CS together and placed the image in the center. I used the *Faux Stitching* technique right around the raised image using the Bravo Burgundy Marker. Once I was finished I raised this panel again onto the Kraft CS base.

Hope you like it and we have inspired you to play along???

Hi Silke:

This card is amazing. I knew you would "cave" and get that embossing brass stencil. I did, too! Remember discussing the cool video in the SU site? We do love all things pretty :)

Love all your details. I need a lesson on faux stitching. Mine always looks, well, faux.

Hugs,

M
