April OCC Challenge

Happy Saturday everyone!!!

Guess what - I'm hosting this months OCC Challenges!!! I hope you'll play along.....??? I'm challenging you to create a card/project with *YOUR* favorite Easter Stamp Set!!! I have a few Set's to choose from, but when it comes down to it I would choose my favorite over and over again.....plus with the Easter holidays right around the corner I thought we all can use some help getting some more cards into the mail!!! For some reason I'm always behind - LOL!!!

I also would like to take the opportunity to introduce my Guest - Jeanette Fincher!!! Jeanette is the owner of a fairly new Stamp Company called 2RedBananas!!! If you are looking for some more fun Challenges - check out the 2RedBananas Blog!!! Jeanette was so generous and donated a Stamp Set for this weeks Challenge!!! Check out the OCC Blog for all the details and the fab Samples!!!

Here is my take on the Challenge......

My favorite Easter Set is an older SU Set called *Glorious Gift*. I always love this powerful Bible Verse and it just says it all!!!

I also love the softer sublet colors with my Easter cards....For this card I used - Bashful Blue, So Saffron, White, Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery.

I inked the the flower image first with So Saffron, Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery. Next I stamped the Bible Verse with Basic Black on top. I distressed and added some Candle Light Shimmerz to the edges. After I was done with the main image I decided to ad a hint of Shimmerz to the flowers too :) - you can see it better on the smaller photo!!!

The card base is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2". The first layer is Bashful Blue. Next I added the Designer Paper is from the SAB *Delicate Dots* Collection. I created the border with the Martha Stewart Punch. The main image was layered onto Pretty in Pink CS and I pierced right around the edges. To dress it all up I used the White Satin Ribbon, a large So Saffron matching button plus my favorite Silver Pearls (he,he,he)!!!

Now I can't wait to see your fabulous creations.....I'll be checking you all out :)!!! Remember there is no time limit to this Challenge, but if you want to win the 2RedBananas Set you have to get crackin'!!!

Have a great weekend!!! ~TFL~

I like soft subtles on easter cards too. This is beautiful with the flowers behind the sentiment, and the MS Doily punch is a beautiful accent.

I had not heard of Shimmerz. I googled it and see it is a paint. Could you explain how it would be different from Stickles? (besides the using a watercolor brush!) Love when I see a new product!! The card is positively gorgeous!
