Halloween Treats Project

Oh my - this is my 4th post today...

I actually wanted to surprise you with my SU ONLY BLOG that I've created....but Stampin' Up just made a huge announcement today on the SU Demonstrator site that if you are a SU Demo you can no longer represent other companies via your blog or any other way!!! .....Well make a long story short....I've made the decision to resign as a SU Demonstrator by the end of the month.

Please don't get me wrong...I love their product and I will continue using SU merchandise, but since I also design for other companies this announcement and decision by Stampin' Up doesn't leave me any wiggle room!!! Plus in all fairness I have to mention that I was more of a *hobby* Demonstrator.... That's all!!!

I do want to say *thank you* to all of you out there who shopped with me!!! I really appreciated your business!!!

Since I planned on showing this Halloween Project on my new blog....(which I no longer need) I figured I'd transfer it over here where I can share it with all of you!!! It's nothing major...just some fun stuff for the upcoming holidays.....!!!

You all know by now that the NEW HOLIDAY MINI CATALOG IS AVAILABLE TODAY!!!.

Of course I created a little project for you all....I'm featuring the Sweet Centers Set that you can find in the new Holiday Mini Catalog.

Of course with Halloween right around the corner I made some *Halloween Treats*. I used the new Specialty Design Paper - Night & Day that is featured in the new Mini Catalog.

I inked the Halloween image in Lavender Lace and layered onto Basic Black CS.

Before I adhered the Black CS I punched out the center with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch. Then I place the Sweet Treat Cup filled with candy inside. These Treat Cups have a adhesive liner for quick and ease crafting!!!!

Next I added a little extra Snail Adhesive on the corners of the Black CS so it's holding the entire treat together...it's very easy to do!!!

At last I added some Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the closed treat and raised it of the card base.

I used the same steps as above.....

The only difference is that I used Pumpkin Pie Ink on this card and adhered the Specialty Design Paper vertical.

The *Happy Halloween* sentiment is from the All Holidays Set.

Here is a *combo* look of the two cards together....

These cards are 4" x 4" in size.

These yummy Jelly Beans are from a local candy store...I had to use them quickly - these don't last very long in our house - LOL!!!

I bought this cute little Black Tin last year from the $1 Section at Target.

I decorated the inside of the Tin with some crimped Basic Black and Orchid Opulence CS that I had leftover from last year.

The outside of the Tin was decorated with the Specialty DP - Night & Day . I tied the 1/2" Striped Pumpkin Pie Ribbon around it.

For these treats I added a 4" Lollipop Stick to the back so they can stand up in the Tin.

Hope you like the ideas??? Make sure to check out my other posts!!!

Have a wonderful day!!! Hugs ~S~

Oh Silke... what an adorable project! Love the little bucket and the card even has treats!!! OMGoodness you are so clever!!! I really am sorry SU! decided to do this... no man is an island and I think they're going to find themselves alone in the water! What a shame! Well all I can say is I'm glad you didn't decide to drop all the other DT's... because I love working along side you! Your rock gf!

Good for you, Silke!!! I am with Grace here. They are going to regret that they are doing this. Anyhow, we don't believe in Halloween, but I like the little capsules you've used. I guess the sky is the limit and they could be used for any occasion. Hugs, Sabrina

Love these, Silke! Haven't tried working with my sweet treats yet but maybe this weekemd. I'm sorry that the SU! decision is affecting you. I have decided to hang in there since I am basically SU! only in my crafting. Looking forward to more of your beautiful creations!

I'm sorry you were forced into making a decision you otherwise wouldn't have made, but I would have done the same thing. There's just too much good stuff out there to promote only one company exclusively, so I understand the position you're in.
Your cards are awesome and I LOVE black jelly beans!! :)

It's too bad that SU is forcing the issue -- and it's their loss that you're choosing to leave. I'll continue to check here for your *FABULOUS* projects! :)

Hey sweetie - that is exactly my sentiments as well. I'm sad that we'll have to leave this amazing company :(

I am sad about this too. I think SU is making a huge mistake. I don't think this will go in their favor. This is adorable Silke. I dropped my demoship a few months ago and have not missed it at all..Great job.

Wonderful and Fun projects.
I am with you 100% in your decision to leave SU - I did the same thing today and I am not on any Design Teams. I just felt I couldn't represent a company that did not allow personal freedom on one's own private blog.

Silke, these projects are fab--as always! You have a great eye for clean design. I'm with you on the SU thing--will be gone before the month is up. I'm small beans though, since I do far more non-SU work than SU these days. Still, it's a little sad. You will do great wherever you land!

Good on you Silke! Crafting is becoming more of a busines and less of a pleasurable hobby and how a company as big as SU can have the neck to dictate like this, I find astonishing!
Their stuff's good, but not THAT good!
LOVE your latest projects and as usual, can't wait to see more.
Hugs Viv xx

This project is so totally adorable Silke! I'm with you on SU, I dropped six months ago. I think they're making a huge mistake. I loved SU when I signed on, but over the years, the stamps have changed and no longer appeal to me. The restrictions they are placing on their demo's are ridiculous for what little a demo earns on sales!

I have never wrote on your blog or bought from you but I do visit your blog daily, you are fantastic, one little thing like SU shouldn't interfer with you at all. keep up the great work you do and may God Always Bless you!

Nice job Silke, those lil goodies are so cute!

Great Halloween creations, Silke!

SU! is losing a great demonstrator. My demo doesn't have a blog, so I like getting previews of upcoming products from demos like yourself. I think SU! will ultimately lose more business from this decision.

Silke, I too am leaving SU at the end of the month. I haven't been on many design teams, but that has been my goal rather than making big sales with my SU. My desire to create the art is greater than staying with a company that is afraid of their competion. I will also remain a customer for my papers and inks for the most part, but I will also have more money available to spend on stamps I find from other companies that are more desireable to me. I haven't cared for the direction the company has gone to with the decals and now the digital scrapbooking. They are just copy catting other companies who have already proven these items marketable. SU has never been bold enough or innovative enough to come up with new products of their own. And they pentilize us for wanting to make use of these great products. I could go on and on and I wish they would concentrate on what they do best and expand on that. I've always thought they should just expand their color line instead of retiring the in colors, but they don't listen to a hobbyist point of view. I'm right behind you girl, and I know we can find some other wonderful opportunities out there. Hugs!

Gorgeous card Silke!! It makes me sad that SU has pushed their demos to this extreme :( I hope they realise how many talented demos they are going to be losing!!

I heard about all the SU stuff last night (our time) and thought of you straight away - I'm glad the decision for you wasn't as difficult as it could have been. I'm really glad that you will still be showcasing a variety of products!! :)

This project is so cute! We don't celebrate halloween here, so the notion is a bit foreign, but it's still adorable!! :)

Hey Silke - take those jellybeans out, refill with chocolate and send to my address!

Hi there!
I just found your blog today and your projects are adorable. The SU topic caught my eye, beause my sister is also stepping down at the end of the month as a demonstrator because of their new rules.

Keep up the great creating!! Thanks for another inspirational blog to follow on my GoogleReader!
