CQC32 Special Day and IC232, WT270, QFTD09 Life's Moments

Happy weekend!!!

I can't even begin telling you how happy I am that it is weekend!!!  What a crazy week it has been...good crazy at least. So much going on and so little time!!! I was so looking forward to Friday night...because I usually have some stampin' time!!!

Did I mention my hubby is off for the next 75 days.....in a way it's nice, but then again he is the one who keeping me busy...because of him I don't get any stampin' done :( !!! I hate to say it, but I'm counting down the days till the University is back in session.....LOL!!!

Anyway...I did escape tonight to my super messy stamp room. I started out with this card......the color combo is from this weeks CQC32 - using Kiwi Kiss, Groovy Guava, Kraft, Basic Black and Vanilla.

I used the Branch Out Set from Stampin' Up. The tree and tire image were inked in Memento Desert Sand. The sentiment is from a stamp set that is unkown and I inked it in Basic Black along with the little birdy image. The leaves were inked in Kiwi Kiss and Groovy Guava. The Kraft CS was embossed with the awesome Retro Diamonds Folder from QuicKutz. I finished the card off by adding two stripes of Black Ribbon and the Black Pearls.

Of course I couldn't wait to play this weeks Inspiration Challenge #232 ~ Two Lumps of Sugar over on SCS. I chose this New Hope Vintage Fabric as it reminded me of the fabulous new Elements of Style image from Stampin' Up. I combined it with this weeks Queen for the Day #9 Challenge. This week the Queen is Linda Hotwheels aka *Hotwheels*. I chose to case this card from her. Along the way I discovered that the WT270 is all about distressing....and added this technique to my cards as well.

I'm really lovin' this new Stampin' Up Set....it is so versatile and sooooo gorgeous!!! I inked it in Memento Black and colored it with Copic Markers R22, YR00, R000, G12, G24.

distressed & color distressed the edges with Chocolate Chip Ink. I added the Wild Wasabi Ribbon with the Copper Label Holder as well as the matching Copper Brads. At last I bedazzled the flowers with some Dazzling Diamond Glitter....voila!!!

Before I go I want to share another Elements of Style card.......

I just remembered that I totally forgot to show off my card from last weeks Queen for the Day #8 Challenge. I added it to my SCS Gallery, but not to my blog.....you can read all the info right HERE!!!

Have a fabulous weekend!!! I have to go to bed now, because my hubby has another fun *house project* set up for us in the morning....he wants us to cleaning all the windows ...yikes!!! All I can say is 74 days till he is going back to work.....LOL!!!!  Hugs ~S~

LOL - You were looking for another countdown and now you've got it! Just not what you were hoping for! We'll have to plan something for you to countdown that's less than 74 days!!! July is wide open....;-)

Love all three of your cards, especially the middle one. Very nice!

Silke, I check out your blog and love all your cards. They are so gorgeous!
I had to laugh with your comment about your husband being off for 75 days. My husband is off for 90 days with Long Service Leave! I think I have survived 30 days so far. Let me say, there hasn't been a lot of stamping being done!!! You just don't have the same routine!
All the best. I empathise with you!

Love the colours that you made those flowers!! So pretty!! Best wishes with our 74 days.... here's hoping DH golfs :-) Friday night I thought .... You know the playoffs will be over soon, I better enjoy this! (He cheers for Boston and they were eliminated on Friday night, he watched while I coloured.

Wonderful set of cards, Silke. Love the embossed BG on the top one and you have coloured the flowers beautifully on the other two. Think you need to get hubby to either teach or take classes during his break to help occupy some of his time LOL (not sure if he is a Prof or a student). Hang in there :D

Well ... I'm impressed that you got these done. These hubbies can be such a distraction ... and it is amazing how much attention they desire!!! (Notice I didn't say require!) Mine is laid up in bed with a bulging disc in his back ... so that is a little unfair, I guess! The extra attention is actually needed at the moment! But ... I am not getting any stamping done, either! Love these sweet soft images ... and the colour you chose to add. Oh ... and you are very brave to add some distressing, Silke ... I know this would have been a little outside your comfort zone! Hugs xxAxx
