ODBDSLC59, C4C86 Happy Mother's Day...and a quick Tutorial!

Happy Saturday and Happy Mother's Day weekend!

If you are looking for my TSG Blog hop card please scroll down one post!

Hope you will get to enjoy this weekend with your loved ones?!?! I know I'll be living it up...LOL! !

Today I have a quick combined card for you....the first challenge is the Crazy 4 Challenges ~ C4C86. Joanne is our new May host and she is challenging us to add *FLOWERS* everywhere! More info and all the fabbo flower cards can be found on the C4C blog!

My second challenge on this card is for the ODBD Shining Light Challenge ~ ODBDSLC59. This week we have a technique for you to try and it's called *FAUX EMBOSSING* or some know it also as *EMBEDDED EMBOSSING*. I prepared a quick tutorial at the end of the post and if you feel like it check it out :) !!!

Here is my card....

I used the beautiful Mother's Day Set that was release last month. For the *Faux Embossing* technique I also included the matching Poppy Die. The sentiment is from another Happy Mother's Day Set and it was inked onto the Fancy Labels frame. My color of choice for this card is SU Poppy Parade. I finished the card with some Red Stitched Ribbon and the Silver Pearls.

Here is my tutorial:

This card was so quick to make....all you have to do is pick the die and the embossing folder that you want to use and run it through the embossing machine. I always like to back up my embossed cardstock with an extra cardstock for support..that way it does not buckle on you :) . Next you embellish your card to your liking and voila!

Please make sure to check out the ODBDSLC team for their ideas on the embossing ~ Sabrina, Chris, FranciePat. Please also stop by our new Guest Designer for May/June Rosemary Dennis and give her some love!!!

Now it's your turn...have fun! Wishing you a fabulous Mother's Day weekend! Hugs ~Silke~

This is the beautiful card that I had the opportunity to see in the ODBD booth at the Novi, Mi. Mega Meet yesterday. In person,it is even more beautiful. Thanks so much for explaining how to create it as it was so busy in the booth and I didn't get the chance to ask anyone.
