SC173 Live Your Dream

Hey you all - I made this "Thanks" card to everyone who was so kind to sent their thoughts and prayers my way!!!

It meant the world to me and my family!!!

Today is a better and brighter day for me...I went and picked out a "Urn" for Rico yesterday and I should have my boy back in about two weeks....

He'll get a special place in our house and then I can talk to him when ever I want to...!!! I know that's kinda weird, but it really helps me to move on!!!

This wonderful Sketch for today's Challenge #173 came in really handy to create the card.
I have also used the colors from yesterdays Color Combo #163 - Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink - they are sooooo beautiful together!!!

The main image is from the new "Live Your Dream" Set and I'm so glad I finally bought it - it's so much fun to make a card with....I have inked the flowers with Pretty in Pink and the stems in Certainly Celery - then I have sprayed the stamp with my Mister and stamped it straight onto
a Whisper White CS. The sentiment was inked in Chocolate Chip.

I have also stamped the little butterfly from this set in Pretty in Pink and outlined it with a CC Marker. I had to add some sparkles to it and also to the center of the flowers.....The Ribbon is the 5/8" Regal Rose color from SU.

Thank you again for being so sweet and I hope you like the card?!?

Your card is beautiful! BTW, you're not weird at all, just loved your baby. I had my first kitty, who lived to be 19 years old, cremated and I have his ashes in a beautiful pewter tobacco can that I bought in Williamsburg, Virginia on a trip (not for that purpose though). He's still here with me.

LOVE this card, especially with the regal rose satin ribbon running through the two large eyelets...I think I need to finally give in and get some of those...you enabler, you!! {wink}

...it's definitely not weird, I have a little cutting of fur from my cat...we all do what we feel we need to in order to get through the loss.

Your card is so pretty today! I have been eyeing up that stamp set for awhile and just might have to get it on my next order. ;-) Nice job!!

I was so sorry to hear about your Rico the other day. It has weighed heavily on my mind. My cousin had her 14 yr old Cocker Spaniel put down this morning. I've been crying since last nite but she's no longer suffering. Thank you for sharing your story and I wish you & your family peaceful days ahead filled with beautiful memories of Rico.

Have a great day!
Wendy

So sorry about your boxer, Rico - my son lost his boxer, Sampson, 4 years ago, he had a brain tumor and it was just awful - Boxers are such wonderful dogs!

Your card is beautiful - love the colors and the pretty butterfly!

This card is such an elegant beauty. Love the ribbon treatment with the eyelets.

I think it's wonderful that Rico will be close by so you can still 'feel' his little spirit. I don't think its weird at all, Silke.

This is gorgeous!!!! You get better and better every day!! Glad today's a better day.

We live in the country on some acreage. Kato's on a hill in front of our house, oh some good yards away. But close enough for me to walk out there with M and the two dogs (I adopted a Lhasa three months later) to talk to him. It always make me feel good too :D

Love what you did with the challenge...your card is gorgeous! The butterfly popped up is a nice touch!

Sorry to read about your dog...I'm playing catch up on my fav blogs and just read that. Glad to read that today is a better day for you and that you'll get him back in two weeks. HUGS!

Your card is gorgeous, Silke. This is a fave set of mine.

You are not weird in any way to keep Rico's ashes. We had to put our dog, Jake, down almost three years ago and we have a large framed picture of him in our hallway and every now and then my husband or I will just stop and say hi and tell him how much we miss him. He was a part of our family for 13 years....

This is such a beautiful card. I just found your site and love the simple, clean, elegant lines of your creations. So very sorry to hear of your loss. We lost our 2 goldens to cancer but now have a bouncy, wacky goldendoodle who drives us crazy and fills our lives. Blessings!

Oh Silke, I haven't been to your blog in a few days and when I come back I find this. I am so sorry to hear about your beloved furbaby and I don't think it is weird at all. I don't know what I would do if something happened to my Sophie, but I believe it will be the same as you. Your card is gorgeous. Hugs to you!!

Such a pretty card with the jumbo eyelets and Regal Rose ribbon. The butterfly is beautiful! I am so sorry about Rico. There is nothing weird with having a special place for him in your home. It's a tradition in my culture to create an alter for those who passed on... a place of honor so to speak. My cat of 20 years passed away in Jan. 08 and although she has not been with me for many many years (my parents home), I was heartbroken. Sending hugs across the miles. ~ Jane

PS. I hope you don't mind if I add you to my ever growing list of SCS blogs to visit. I do try to visit as many as I ca, as often as I can. Thank you for the inspiration and talent you share!
