Hello my stamping friends!!!
It finally happened God has taken my stepfather home last night...his suffering ended peacefully. Even though my heart is saddened, knowing he was surrounded by my family during his last minutes is bringing peace and a smile to my face!!!
Please continue praying for family especially for my mom during this sad time...!!! Thank you!!! ~S~

Flourishes Birthday Blog - SURPRISE!!!
Happy TGIF!!! Have you seen....it's Jan Marie's birthday!?! Happy Birthday Jan Marie!!! Hope you are having a fun one!!!
Today is the second day of the Hopping Through the Decades Celebration !!! If you missed yesterdays hop please click HERE to check it out!!! If you just came from Laura's blog then you are right on track!!!
If you followed along then I bet a lot of you have been reminiscing and having a little giggle too. Who could forget the leg warmers of the 80’s??? How about the TV shows like 90210 or the A-Team???
I chose decade *2010*....well we are only two months into it and I'm not sure how to define it since it's still in the making!?! So.... I'm running with the Vancouver Winter Olympics *wink*!!! I thought I'd give Jan Marie my *German* twist on this fabulous new Stamp Set...LOL!!! Did you see that the German Team is in second place winning Olympic Medals....see I can't lose either way...he,he,he???
Here is the card without the yummy candy........
As you can tell I designed a CAS card. I used the colors for the German flag - Red, Gold and Black. I substituted my *Gold* for Marigold Morning. The card base was scored first. Next I stamped the cake with the different colors. I finished it off with a Punched Out Flower, some Black Satin Ribbon and the sentiment is from the Taglines Set ...voila!!!
The Candy Wrappers were inked in Real Red using the Largest Cake Layer image. I used Candy Nuggets and I cut each wrapper at about 3 1/4" and adhered them with a Sticky Strip. I topped each candy with another punched out flower and added a Silver Pearl in the center. Aren't they delicious looking???
Now it's your turn - would you can like to win our new Let Them Eat Cake set drawn by artist Becky Fleck??? All you need to do is leave a little love on our designer's blogs. If you comment on all 14 posts in the hop, please go back to Flourishes Blog and leave a message saying, "I hopped through the decades with Jan Marie!" We will then randomly draw 2 names on Saturday at 12 pm CST from all those who participated. The winners will receive the *Let them Eat Cake* Stamp Set along with some other goodies - wahoooo!!!
Since I'm last in todays hop I thought I'd list all the participants.....so you won't miss anyone :) !!! Good luck and thank you for hopping along with us!!!
Yesterday:

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday - FTTC55!!!
Hello everyone!!! Thank you so much for keeping my step-dad in your prayers!!! It really means the world to me and my family!!! God is good and we trust in him alone!!!
As always stampin' is good therapy for me and I did get a chance to stamp for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge - FTTC55!!!! It is the last Tuesday of the month so we have a *Guest Challenge* host! This month's guest is our sweet Australian friend Iwona Palamountain aka Chupa on SCS. She is challenging us to use *FLOWERS* !!! Whether they are printed flower designer papers, stamped, punch created, or store bought, put some flowers on your card this week!!!
Here is my idea....
I used the gorgeous Sweet Peas Set for my flower image. The sentiment was created with the Taglines Set. My idea to tear the edges on this design came from this weeks SSSHP19 - Doing the Mess Around.
The Sweet Pea image was inked in Memento Black and colored with these Copic Marker Collections - Hollyhock & Fields. Once I was done coloring I added some Angel Wings Shimmerz to the flowes and around the torn Pink Tissue Paper. The card was finished off with some Pink Satin Ribbon and some Silver Pearls.
Please make sure to stop by Barbara, Betty, Cindy, Dee and Maki's blog to see their ideas.
Hope you get a chance to play along!!!
Oh yeah...did you see the new fabulous designed Flourishes Store yet....make sure to check it out!!!

Update on my stepfather....
Hello my stampin' friends....just wanted to give you an update on my stepfather *Henry*!!!
Some of you already know that he had an emergency surgery a few days ago were they had to remove one kidney and his spleen......the doctor's confirmed that Henry has last stage of *Liver Cirrhosis*!!! There is nothing else they can do for him....plus his other kidney is not handling all the stress and it's losing it's function as well!!! The doctor's don't consider him for a *liver transplant* as Henry's body does not produce the needed *protein* he needs to continue living!!! Here is a link that helps you understand it a bit better!!!
Needless to say that it's all in God's hand now...!!! Please continue praying for my stepfather that he'll be taken home quickly...without further suffering!!!
My mom is trying to stay strong and is planning ahead.....I'm so glad my little sister lives close by and helps her to understand and handles most of the arrangements so my mom can spend time with Henry!!! I'm trying to fly home for the funeral....if I can!!! So if you don't see me around you know I'm on my way home to spend time with my family!!!
Thank you for you kind thoughts and prayers!!! Hugs ~S~

OCC - A Technique Challenge and a bonus card!!!
Happy Saturday everyone!!!
Thank you so much for all the sweet comment you all left on my RAK card from my sweet friend Carol Southern...if you missed it...you can see it right HERE!!! I knew you would be blown away too...it's truly a masterpiece!!! This amazing technique on her card is called *Pergamano Craft*. I found this site and it explaines this fab technique a little more, but feel free to google it a little bit more!!!
Well, how about another fun OCC Challenge??? Linda is challenging us to try a *technique* we have never done before...so cool!!! I must admit I'm not huge into different techniques...I'm a visual learner and when I read instructions...I swear at the end I usually mess it up - LOL!!! If you want to try something new then please swing by the SCS Technique Site for inspiration!!!
For my card today I tried the Wax Paper Cuttlebug Resist technique.....very easy to make and I think the outcome is just gorgeous...and I didn't mess it up - LOL!!!
My main image is from the PTI Set Bird Watching. The layout is from the Sweet Sunday Sketch #56. When I saw this weeks Moxie Fab World Challenge - Let's Have Some Fun With Floss....I knew I had to play along. I love Karen Foster Scrappers Floss and believe it or not I have all the colors!!!
The main image was inked in Memento Black and colored with Copic Markers. For my Wax Resist BG I used the QuickKutz Retro Diamonds Embossing Folder. After I followed all the steps...I sponged the Glossy CS with Real Red Ink. I really like the outcome of this image :) !!! Next I finished the card with the Scrappers Floss, the Red Stitched Ribbon and Silver Pearls.
If you haven't tried this fun technique...I urge you to do so....it's really fun!!!
Now it's your turn....don't forget to stop by the OCC Blog to see all the Samples!!!
**************************************
My next card is for a few different Challenges....first I was inspired by this weeks IC220 - Lark. I chose this super sweet Butterfly Craft Kit for my inspiration piece.
Next I chose to run with the beautiful Curtain Call Color Combo #17 - using So Saffron, More Mustard , Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla and Going Gray...(had to use Basic Gray). I added the
LSC260 - using Ribbon and Trim plus it also fits this weeks Belli Challenge #85 - adding Butterflies or Dragonflies.
Here is my card............
I used the sweet Set from Stampin' Up called Flight of the Butterfly. Instead of using the sentiments in the Set...I decided to add some piercing. I also added piercing around the edges.
The butterflies were first inked in So Saffron and then I added the dots with the More Mustard Ink. The trim was created with Chocolate Chip using the new Scallop Trim Border Punch. I added the Basic Gray Taffeta Ribbon and dressed it up with some Silver Pearls and Buttons from the SU Latte Collection.
Thank you for stopping by today!!! Have a fabulous weekend!!!

Stamper's Dream...JustRite and Northwood
Happy Wednesday everyone!!!
Did you all play Betty's awesome CC258 yesterday??? Well... I really loved this color combo and I had to make two more cards :)
For my first card I used the beautiful JustRite image from the Plant a Little Love Borders & Centers. It's back in the Stamper's Dream Store...just in case you've been waiting for it!!!
I inked the flower image in Memento Black and colored it with Copic Markers.
The corners on the bottom of my card were punched with a Corner Rounder. I don't recall what brand the DP is from...I found it in my leftover stash...sorry. I dressed the card up with some Lace Ribbon, some Soft Suede Dotted Ribbon that I flipped around. I added some Silver Pearls on top and some punched out Scallop Trim Borders on the DP edges.
****************************************
My second card was inspired once again by the CAS54 - Wishing for Spring. The layout is from this weeks MMSC41 Sketch.
Easter is only a few weeks away and I thought I'd start working on some of my *Easter* cards. This sweet image is from Northwoods Rubber Stamps called Bunny with Tulips. Isn't it cute???
I inked this image with Memento Black and colored it with Copic Markers.
The image was layered onto another White CS and I pierced right around it. My BG colors are So Saffron and the Green DP is from the KaiserCraft called Lilac Avenue Collection. The card was dressed up with some Ribbon, some Small and Large Silver Pearls.
Hope you like my *Spring* cards :) !?!
Have a wonderful day and I'll see ya soon!!!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday - FTTC54!!!
Happy Tuesday everyone!!!
Did you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day??? We sure did...we were again total slackers..!!! We enjoyed watching the Winter Olympics!!! We are always blown away by all these amazing athletes!!! On Saturday afternoon our middle daughter Rebecca played in the *Championship* game for her age group, but unfortunately they lost by 3 points...!!! It was a really good game...and we are extremely proud for making second place!!! Of course we had to celebrate with some yummy ice cream - LOL!!!
Okay...moving on to today's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday - FTTC54!!! Dee Jackson is our host and she is challenging us to an "All About Me" theme. Use what you love and what makes you happy!! Use your favorite colors, stamps, layout, and embellishments! Whatever ROCKS your world! We would love to see what you create!!!
Did I ever mention that my main reason getting into stampin' was to create personalized presents...treat bags, boxes etc.??? Well over the last few months I've been trying to get back to my original idea...!!! I have bought plenty of dies and templates to create my projects!!! A few other things that make me happy are - a great Stamp Set, the color purple, my fav Silver Pearls (hopelessly addicted - LOL) and a good Sketch!!!
Here is my take on the challenge....
I used the beautiful newly released From the Garden Set. My idea for this Set came from this weeks CAS54 - Wishing for Spring!!! The Sketch is from last weeks Mojo125....I tweaked it a little bit. I just saw that my card also fits this weeks CC258 - Perfect Plum, Pale Plum and Soft Suede.
The flower images and sentiments were inked in Memento Black and colored with these Copic Marker Collections - Lilac, Meadow plus YG91.
For my little gift box I used the Fancy Favor Sizzix Bigz Die. I decorated it with the same Lilac Avenue DP and the same Plum Pudding Ribbon as the card. On the sides I punched holes and attached some Large Silver Eyelets to hold the Ribbon better. For the inside I added some purple Gift Tissue and some packages of Flower Seeds...voila!!!
Please make sure to stop by Barbara, Betty, Cindy, Dee and Maki's blog to see their take on the Challenge!!!
Have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by!!!

MTSC60, Curtain Call Color Combo #16 and CCEE
Hello my sweet stampin' friends!!!
Thank you to for keeping my stepfather in your prayers!!! It means a lot to me and my family!!! Never under estimate the power of prayers - right :) ?!? I just got off the phone with my mom and they have not heard anything from the doctors...so hopefully tomorrow!!!
I've been running around today ....getting some errands done, before my girls get off *Winter Break* next week!!! I'm happy to show you a card I made last night. Thank goodness my girls were so tired they went to bed early and I had a chance to actually stamp - wahooo!!!
As I was blog hopping yesterday I found three wonderful Challenges I felt like taking on.....first the awesome Sketch from Mercy - MTSC60. Next the uper talented CCEE ladies are having an Inspiration Challenge going on and we were to pick an inspiration piece from this website - ImageKind. I chose this beautiful roses bouquet for my inspiration which also fits into this weeks Curtain Call Color Combo #16 - using Kraft, Real Red and Very Vanilla.
Here is my card......sorry for some reason I have a hard time making this card look bigger on the screen....please make sure to click on it to see it larger!!! Thank you!!!
For the Kraft color I used a Memento Ink called *Desert Sand*. The left panel was punched with the SU Eyelet Border Punch. I dressed the card up with some Red Satin Ribbon, Buttons and some punched out MS butterflies.
Thank you for being such sweet stampin' friends and for stopping by today!!!

Howdy friends!!!
Sorry - I've been so quiet the last few days....so much going on!!!
I really can't focus right now....my stepfather had an emergency operation and they had to remove his kidney and spleen. Unfortunately the kidney had a tumor growing and hopefully tomorrow we'll find out what the pathology report states?!?
My stepfather is still in intensive care and I'm not sure when they will move him.
If you find it in your heart please say a little prayer!!!
Thank you...hugs
